Dance Divisions
Preschool Age 3-4 Once a week for 1/2 hour
Designed for our youngest students, these classes offer development in co-ordination, musical awareness and listening skills while helping students implement their natural creativity in a stress free environment.
Song and dance are used to help engage the students attention and imagination with an introduction to the world of ballet .
Students perform one dance in our annual recital.
Kinder Combo Age 5-6 Once a week for 1 hour
Children begin to learn the correct disciplines of ballet positions, body alignment and center floor work. Students develop a sense of rhythm and musicality through the basics of tap.
Kinder Combo students perform one dance routine in our annual recital.
Children’s Ages 6-8 years
The study of ballet and tap as a combo class with emphasis on the use of correct terminology and body alignment. Students can enhance their training with the addition of a Jazz and/or Hip-Hop class.
Classic Ages 8-18 years
Classes are designed to provide an outlet for students who would like to begin or continue their passion for dance. Willow Street Dance Theatre provides students with the highest quality dance training allowing young dancers to reach their fullest potential.
Our signature combo class program allows dancers to attend one class a week incorporating the fundamental teachings of Ballet, Jazz and Tap
We also offer one class subjects in Hip-Hop, Modern and Lyrical where students can specialize in one or more disciplines. Students are placed in classes based on their experience and are continually monitored by our faculty to insure proper placement.
The length of class time increases as the dancer progresses in age, interest, vocabulary and ability. In an environment that builds self- esteem and confidence, parents are assured their child will develop necessary life tools that extend far beyond the classroom.
Intensive Program Ages 8 - 18 years
Dancers that excel technically with the passion, dedication and desire to pursue serious dance training are selected through class evaluations. Intensive ballet and jazz classes along with tap, lyrical, modern and hip-hop provide the dancer with the versatility to perform a range of work and learn the practices and principles needed for success as a dance artist.
Students have the opportunity to work with master teachers, perform throughout the year in showcases, dance festivals, competitions and community events.
Mini Company Ages 6 - 9 years
Designed as a crossroads between the Classic and Intensive program, young dancers that demonstrate a natural sense of rhythm, grace, technical abilities and potential are placed in this program to train in a more professional classroom setting. In a caring yet structured environment the main focus is ballet basics as well as proper training in jazz and tap.
These dancers are involved in performance opportunities throughout the year and our year end Company Showcase.
Performance Company Ages 8-18 years
Open to students enrolled in the Combo Ballet and Jazz classes with a desire to enhance their dance training and perform through out the year. Students involved in this program gain self-confidence, pride and a sense of team work.
These students have the opportunity to perform at 3 competitions a year and in our year end Company Showcase.
